Welcome to the Naughty Box, a performance exploring the entangled relationship between sound, technology, and the body. This video showcases two separate performances. For your convenience, a short pause between the two has been removed to keep the video engaging and concise. In the performance, I used a laptop charger to provoke sensations in the Naughty Box. By responding to electromagnetic fields rather than traditional sound, it redefines hearing as an emergent experience of sound within the interplay of technology and the environment.

Naughty Box Sound Examples
The Naughty Box contains 221 unique sounds, which the participant receives as feedback via Bluetooth headphones. Depending on the radio field strength, there are 5 levels that can be addressed. Besides hierarchal organised sounds, algorithmically organised sounds result from particular rules, such as feedback of an orgasm when 'level-4-sounds' were played back 10 times.
